We had to make a physic or/and digital exhibition on "Boys don't cry".
The brief gave us the choice to interpreting the theme's name as we want. We decided to talking about classical stereotypes about men, especially the fact men don't cry.
"Men have to be strong enough, do not have to cry or confess, they have to be the pillar of their family."
"Boys don't cry" is interpreted as an irony sentence. We want to make fun of it. The final message through this exhibition is "boys actually cry". Boys feels emotions, boys are humans, and crying is ok for everyone. Whatever the gender, the people, crying is a usual thing.
Studies proves that men tend to feel a bit more emotions and are more sensitive than women. It is just a matter of how kids have been educated.
We want to put the people in the center of the exhibition. Visitors and people are going to be the main actor of this event. We invite you to create your own piece of art. 1st step by invite you on reddit, in a topic when you will be able to upload you craft piece about Boys don't cry, then 3 months later on physic exhibition when craft piece will be exposed, and a workshop, where tables, glues and magazines pictures will be available to anyone to making your craft piece.
It's up to you to interpret the exhibition!
